LAWRENCE, Kan.: Kansas Geological Survey Researchers Receive Grant To Study Ancient Climate

The University of Kansas issued the following news release:

A hundred million years ago, the Earth was so warm that dinosaurs lived in swamps near the North Pole.

As part of an effort to better understand the climate during those ancient times, scientists from the Kansas Geological Survey and the University of Kansas have received a grant from the National Science Foundation.

Researchers Greg Ludvigson, from the geological survey; Luis Gonzalez, Jennifer Roberts and David Fowle from KU's Department of Geology; and Steven Driese of Baylor University received the $250,000 grant.
