THE "TRIPLE MIRRORS" OF NATURE IN THE POETRY OF KENNETH REXROTH

In recent years, the poetry of Kenneth Rexroth has been reexamined in light of a general interest in the interaction between Oriental or mystical perspectives on reality and the relationship of humanity to nature and to the world. Part of the reason for this renewed interest lies in the fact that Rexroth's poetry suggests ways of bridging the gap between experiencing and being, the human separation from things that results from human cognition about them as opposed to the immediate, intuitive co-existence that occurs in the blending of subject and object.
