TWENTY YEARS AGO IN THIS JOURNAL I PRESENTED SOME archival documents concerning John Clemm, or Johann Gottlob Klemm, the first known professional organbuilder in British colonial America.1 The present article provides a transcription and translation of Klemm's Personalia, the primary source for English-language accounts of his life.2 Armstrong bases his summary of Klemm's life on a now missing manuscript of this memoir formerly preserved at the Moravian Archives in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.3 B...
