Jared Jacobsen grew up hearing the sound of the Massey Memorial Organ filling the 5,000-seat amphitheater at the Chautauqua Institution. He was just five years old when his parents took him for piano lessons at the summer resort in southwestern New York. "It has come to be the prototype for the rich, romantic organ sound I now prefer, and even after ten years as the Chautauqua organist, I get a thrill when I put hands and feet to keys each June for a new summer season," he said. Even with the anticipation that comes every spring, however, this season is a special one.
