The city of Gardiner issued the following news release:

Edwin Arlington Robinson, born in 1869, spent the first twenty-eight years of his life in Gardiner, Maine. At the time of his death in 1935, he was recognized as the leading poet in the English language. Plan on joining the Gardiner Public Library as it continues the celebration of this 3-time Pulitzer Prize winning poet.
