James Baker II, 48, is the third generation of Baker's to work in the family business, started in Brattleboro by his grandfather, James Baker, in 1925, and operated also by his father Steven Baker and uncle Dennis Baker.

Baker is a graduate of Middlebury College and did his graduate work at Kellogg School of Management in Chicago, Baker is active in the Steelcase network, having recently served in an advisory capacity on the Steelcase Dealer Council which represents dealer interests throughout the country.
