Argentina and Immigration
Argentina, a Land oflmmigrants1 is the title of a recent (1998) book sponsored by the Argentine government illustrating various aspects of its immigration phenomenon. It was written by a group of scholars representing a range of approaches, research methods and specialized fields on the subject of migration to Argentina. The project itself was initiated by the former President of the Argentine Republic, the son of Muslim Syrian parents, and the Minister of the Interior, a Jew of Eastern European descent.
