ABSTRACT-

The recovery of well-preserved silicified immature exuviae allows the first description of the early ontogeny of the phacopid Nephranops incisus incisus from the lower Famennian of Thuringia (central Germany). Evidence is presented that both planktonic and benthic protaspid larval stages were present in phacopid trilobites. Ontogenetic meraspid changes of this species are similar to those of Weyerites and Phacops, supporting the close phyletic relationships between these gene...

CONODONT BIOSTRATIGRAPHY OF THE CHATTANOOGA SHALE, MIDDLE AND UPPER DEVONIAN, SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN BASIN, EASTERN UNITED STATES
Journal of Paleontology ; ABSTRACT- The Chattanooga Shale of the southern Appalachian Basin contains a diverse conodont fauna of the high Givetian, Frasnian, and Famennian. The predominantly fine-grained strata were deposited in an offshore setting where depositional packages are separated by unconformities. Conodonts allow

Journal of Paleontology ; ABSTRACT-The upper part of cores of the Onakawana B Drillhole in the Moose River Basin in northern Ontario includes the upper part of the upper member of the Williams Island Formation (22.5 m, 16 samples), and the entire overlying Long Rapids Formation (75.1 m, 49 samples). The origin and early radiation of terrestrial vertebrates
Journal of Paleontology ; ABSTRACT-The origin of tetrapods from sarcopterygian fish in the Late Devonian is one of the best known major transitions in the history of vertebrates.
