New Delhi, July 11 -- Most of the people in the country today enjoy sipping a cup of tea many times during the day. Many find it a sort of 'addiction'. No wonder this has made India the largest consumer of tea in the world.

Of the estimated 18 to 20 billion cups of tea sipped daily on earth, an average of 651,000 metric tons of tea annually is consumed in India alone. It is followed by China, the second largest consumer of tea, with about 463,000 metric tons of annual consumption.
