A violet light-filtering IOL (SofPort Advanced Optics with Violet Shield, Bausch & Lomb) seems to offer a more logical approach to protecting eyes from phototoxicity caused by ultraviolet (UV) light without decreasing nighttime vision or compromising color vision compared with blue light- filtering lenses, according to two researchers.
