Taiwanese Inventors Develop Toona Sinensis Roem Leaves Extract

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- Shyng-Shiou Yuan and Hseng-Kuang Hsu, both of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and Yi-Chen Chia of Pingtung County, Taiwan, have developed an extract from the leaves of Toona sinensis Roem., a process of preparing the extract, and uses of the extract in the treatment of ovarian and/or bladder cancer.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are extracts from the leaves of Toona sinensis Roem. prepared by extracting the leaves of Toona sinensis Roem. using water and an alcohol in sequence. Also disclosed are processes for preparing extracts from the leaves ...
