REP. RENZI ANNOUNCES NSF FUNDING FOR LOWELL OBSERVATORY

Rep. Rick Renzi, R-Ariz. (1st CD), issued the following news release:

Rep. Rick Renzi (AZ-01) announced that the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff will be receiving a federal grant of nearly $1.4 million. The funds, provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF), will be used for a project entitled "Collaborative Research: Star Formation in Subcritical Environments." This study will help lead to an improved understanding of star formation in all disk galaxies. The funds will be distributed throughout the next five years, with $155, 772 as the first installment.
