O'Toole to play Pope Paul III in 'The Tudors' second season

Washington, June 6 -- Eight-time Oscar nominated Irish actor, Peter O'Toole, is all set to play Pope Paul III in the television series 'The Tudors'.

He is ready to star in seven episodes of the programme in its second season, and will shoot his segments later this year for broadcast next spring.

The second season series for Showtime will feature the historic showdown between O'Toole's pontiff against Jonathan Rhys Meyers' Henry VIII.
