Bail Bond Fairness Act Introduced in House by Rep. Wexler

WASHINGTON, June 1 -- Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Florida, has introduced the Bail Bond Fairness Act of 2007 (H.R. 2286), legislation that would "amend title 18, U.S. Code, and the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure with respect to bail bond forfeitures."
The bill, introduced on May 10, was co-sponsored by Reps. Ric Keller, R-Florida; F. James Sensenbrenner Jr., R-Wisconsin; Kathy Castor, D-Florida; Ted Poe, R-Texas; John B. Larson, D-Connecticut; and Tim Walberg, R-Michigan. It was referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
