The task of integrating our psychological work with our personal faith is as vital today as it was when evangelicals first began this task more than 50 years ago. The times have changed, however, and the task is (if anything) more difficult than it was at the beginning. Psychology has exponentially expanded its research base; it has, in effect, abandoned many of the theories that attracted some of our earlier integrative work; and it has opened up new and intriguing areas of exploration.
