WASHINGTON, Feb. 27 -- Rep. Solomon P. Ortiz, D-Texas, has introduced a resolution (H.Res. 42) "recognizing Ann Richards' extraordinary contributions to Texas and American public life."

The resolution, introduced on Jan. 9, was co-sponsored by 13 representatives. It was referred to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
