The U.S. Marine Corps issued the following official news story:

A CH-46E Sea Knight hovered above a team of Marines from Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 163 (reinforced) as they stood at the east end of Miramar's flight line, silhouetted by the morning sun Feb. 8. The Marines, whose squadron belongs to Marine Aircraft Group 11, waited attentively to begin external lift drills.
