BRIDGETON - A trio of furry Texan critters charged with predicting the weather Thursday was as confused as Mother Nature has been this winter, with one animal foretelling an early spring while the others scurried back indoors in disagreement.

At the Cohanzick Zoo's 12th Annual Coatimundi Day, the gate into the animals' outdoor exhibit was lifted to see if the coatimundis - small raccoonlike animals native to Central and South America - would take a gander outside.

As a light snow fell against bitterly cold wind, Camilla, Margarita and Floriemel, lured by breakfast, hesitatingly came forth ...
