Dundalk residents and Baltimore County officials celebrated the beginning of a bright new chapter in Dundalk's ongoing renaissance by initiating demolition of the long-troubled Yorkway apartment complex. County Executive Jim Smith and 7th District Councilman John Olszewski Sr. led the proceedings, with Smith taking the first ceremonial swipe at a neglected, vacant building with the claw of a large excavator.
