GERMANY: WORKING TOWARDS CLOSER COOPERATION

The government of Germany issued the following news release:

Germany, France, and Poland want to continue to strengthen their cooperation. This applies in particular to the foreign, security, and defense policy areas. This was agreed by Chancellor Angela Merkel, President Jacques Chirac, President Lech Kaczynski at the Weimar Triangle summit.

They concurred that their countries worked together well during their recent mission in the Congo. They are currently cooperating in Lebanon in the framework of UNIFIL. This close military cooperation is to be added to in the future by the formation of ...
