GERMANY: G8 SUMMIT COULD BE SHOT IN ARM FOR REGIONAL ECONOMY

The government of Germany issued the following news release:

The forthcoming G8 summit in Heiligendamm is expected to provide a tremendous boost for the economy of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Federal and state authorities have made good progress with the preparations.

At a joint press conference in Heiligendamm Bernd Pfaffenbach, Assistant to the Chancellor for the G8, and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Chancellery Chief-of-Staff Reinhard Meyer briefed the media on the current status of preparations.
