FEC FINES 21 POLITICAL COMMITTEES FOR FILING REPORTS LATE

The Federal Election Commission issued the following news release:

The Federal Election Commission has fined 21 political committees a total of $65,965 in civil penalties through its Administrative Fines program, bringing to 1,333 and $1,827,366 the total number of cases and fines collected by the FEC since the program began in 2000.

The Administrative Fine Program has a twofold purpose: to free critical Commission resources for more important and complex enforcement efforts, and to reduce the number of financial reports filed late or not at all. The Administrative Fines Program encompasses ...
