GOV. RILEY ANNOUNCES PROJECT TO WIDEN I-65 AT ALABAMA RIVER BRIDGE

Gov. Bob Riley, R-Ala., issued the following news release:
Gov. Bob Riley announced today that the Alabama Department of Transportation has awarded a $13.2 million project to widen the Interstate 65 bridge over the Alabama River to a total of six lanes.
This project will widen the bridge to three lanes in each direction and will include approach lanes to the bridge from near Bell Street to Northern Boulevard. This work is the first phase of a series of projects that will result in I-65 being six lanes from the U.S. 80 exit south of Montgomery to Prattville.
