FORMER boxer Dan Vandal delivered a knockout punch to incumbent St. Boniface councillor Franco Magnifico Wednesday, winning back the southeast Winnipeg ward by about 2,800 votes.
"You know what?" Vandal asked a group of boisterous supporters in his St. Mary's Road campaign office. "We kicked you know what!"
Vandal earned 57 per cent of the vote over Magnifico's 40 per cent. Self-described Manitoba Liberal Murray Cliff finished with less than three per cent.
