Focused electron-beam-induced (FEB-induced) deposition and etching are versatile, direct-write nanofabrication schemes that allow for selective deposition or removal of a variety of materials. Fundamentally, these processes are governed by an electron-induced reaction with a precursor vapor, which may either result in decomposition to a solid deposit or formation of a volatile etch by-product. The ability to induce such localized reactions by placement of a nanometer-sized focused electron pr...

Secondary particulate matter in the United States: insights from the Particulate Matter Supersites Program and related studies.(TECHNICAL PAPER)(Statistical table)
Journal of the Air & Waste Management Association ; ABSTRACT Secondary aerosols comprise a major fraction of fine particulate matter ([PM.sub.2.5]) in all parts of the country, during all seasons, and times of day. The most abundant secondary species include sulfate, nitrate, ammonium, and secondary organic aerosols (SOAs). The relative abundance of

Evolution fight not about origins of life Science cannot address some issues
Dayton Daily News ; When President George W. Bush recently said intelligent design should be taught along side evolution in public schools, he set off a national debate. One must not confuse issues of evolution with issues of the origin of life. Evolution explains a natural selection for plant or animal populations.

Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences ; ABSTRACT Airborne observations of trace gases, particle size distributions, and particle optical properties were made during a constant altitude transect from New Hampshire to Maryland on 14 August 2002, the final day of a multiday haze and ozone (O^sub 3^) episode over the Mid-Atlantic and
Dinosaurs coexisted with their ancestors
Capital (Annapolis) ; WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) - Dinosaurs shared the Earth for millions of years with the species that were their ancestors, a new study concludes. Dinosaurs arose in the Late Triassic, between 235 million and 200 million years ago, and came to dominate the planet in the Jurassic, 200 million to 120
