GOV. RILEY AWARDS GRANT FOR WATER SERVICE IN TALLAPOOSA COUNTY

The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs issued the following news release:

Although Tallapoosa County is home to one of the state's largest lakes and a major river, many residents do not have access to an adequate public water supply. That could soon change thanks to a $400,000 grant from Gov. Bob Riley.

The Community Development Block Grant will enable the county to construct a 150,000-gallon tank and new water lines to supply sufficient water to residents near Jackson's Gap, an area located only a few miles from Lake Martin and the Tallapoosa River.
