The city of Palmdale issued the following news release:

Robert W. Toone, Jr., city manager for the City of Palmdale, announced at last night's City Council meeting that he will retire in January 2007.

"Many major City initiatives have flourished during Bob's tenure as city manager," said Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford. "Bob has had a significant and positive influence in the growth and development of our City, and he will be missed; however, this organization will continue to work and achieve the goals that we have created as a community.
