Kane gets 6 months

State librarian Bart Kane has six months to clean up the mess surrounding the controversial Baker &AMP Taylor book contract and try to earn back the respect of his employees.

The state Board of Education early today voted 11 to 2 in favor of retaining Kane for the next six months, provided he meets certain conditions.

Kane must settle all issues surrounding the Baker &AMP Taylor contract dispute, except pending litigation that may drag on for longer than six months, and come up with a "clear and concise" administrative plan that will address selection and processing of books and ...
