Help nurse practitioners, province urged

THE provincial government has to step up with permanent jobs and better funding to keep the nurse practitioners its training in Manitoba, the association representing the specially trained nurses said yesterday.

Jane MacDonald, co-chair of the Nurse Practitioners Association of Manitoba, says there just aren't enough jobs to go around for the nurses graduating from the two-year program at the University of Manitoba.
