Three nobelists who paved the way

HISTORY CORNER
Three Nobel Prizes have been awarded to scientists who have contributed materially to the development of modern nuclear medicine, although two ofthe prizes were awarded for other achievements. The recipients were Glenn Seaborg, Emilio Segre, and Rosalyn Yalow Nuclear medicine would not be what it is today without their contributions.
These three individuals had many qualities in common. They were either immigrants (Segre. Italy) or children of immigrants (Seaborg, Sweden; Yalow, Germany). Two never retired. Until his sudden death in 1999, Seaborg continued to work as usual ...
