To the Editor: When symptomatic acromegaly occurs during pregnancy, the treatment decision becomes problematic because of an increased fetal risk of hypophysectomy and limited data about the safety of octreotide (a somatostatin analogue drug approved to treat acromegaly) during pregnancy. This issue is addressed in the description of the following patient.
