NEW DELHI, India, July 28 -- EVEN AS the debate on whether snake charmers should be allowed to roam about displaying the reptiles during the month of 'Shravan' continues, many women - even educated ones - said that symbolic worship of snakes should be allowed on 'Nagpanchmi' festival.
They said they were aware that snakes did not drink milk and the methods adopted by snake charmers to de-fang the reptiles were crude, but all this could be corrected. There was a way to maintain the worship tradition, without hurting the animal.
They even offered some suggestions while talking to the Hindustan ...
