I freely confess that I am a Saran Wrap washer. I only buy plastic wrap on rare occasions -- it's an environmental blight, as far as I'm concerned. But when it finds its way into my house, it gets washed and reused a few times before it eventually loses its grip and gets tossed out.

The first cling wrap to hit the market in 1952, Saran Wrap was invented by Dow Chemical, the world's largest chlorine manufacturer. It was originally made from polyvinyl chloride film developed by Dow for military use during the Second World War.
