MOST RECENT STUDIES of 2 Chronicles 34-35 have attempted to deal with various historical issues of the text.1 Although many of the insights from these studies are valuable, very little attention has been paid to reading Josiah's rule and death in 2 Chronicles from a literary perspective.2 In this contribution, therefore, I propose a literary reading of 2 Chronicles 34-35 on the terms of the Chronicler.
