Crisis center helps the addicted

Almost 80 people sought help from the Community Crisis Center during its first month in operation, according to statistics released Monday.

Since it opened June 14, at least 27 people have called the center's crisis line for help and 51 visited in person at 704 N. 30th St.

"I think it's been very hopeful," said Paula Ehrmantraut, a Mental Health Center counselor who works at the crisis center. "We've provided hope for a lot of people already."
