Renowned for its fine, supple coat, chinchilla is a luxury fur that, in the early 1920s, became a standard item in the collections of mainstream ready-to-wear and haute couture brands.

Textiles Chinchilla inc., a Quebec company located in Saint-Roch de l'Achigan, run a chinchilla ranch raising over 3,000 premium quality chinchillas. The owners, Johane Brien and Jocelyn Desrochers, have developed a unique technique that enables them to harvest the hair from the chinchillas' coats.
