SCHOOL children throughout Manitoba could soon be warbling "Let's sing a song of lakelands and fields, blue skies and golden grains."
Those are words from Manitoba's centennial song, lyrics by Anne Collier, music by Gordon Watson: a couple of all-but-forgotten Portage la Prairie "artsy" neighbours who won out among 165 entries from eight provinces in 1970 to give Manitoba its centennial song.
