Reunions: Bringing Early Italian Paintings Back Together is a small in-focus exhibition of the kind the National Gallery does so well, consisting of just six pictures (until 29 January). Four of these are tiny: the pair of panels by Cimabue, and a diptych by an unknown Umbrian master, depicting 'The Virgin and Child' and 'The Man of Sorrows' -- the earliest surviving juxtaposition of these subjects.
