Note: This piece was presented originally at "Retelling Little Red et al.: Fairy Tales in Art and Literature," an evening of the Museum of Modern Art held at the Gramercy Theatre, New York City, on 24 February 2004. The evening also featured presentations by Jack Zipes, Francine Prose, and Kiki Smith. (A transcript of the panel discussion is available on tape from the Museum of Modern Art and is reprinted in the first issue of Fairy Tale Review [2005]: 91-102). All images were projected in color on a large screen at the Gramercy during this presentation.
