Vandalia Answers Suit Over Doomed Land Deal
|
A non-profit organization that purchases land in the northern part of the state said a lawsuit filed against the group last month is without merit.
Vandalia Redevelopment Corp. recently filed a response to the breach-of-contract lawsuit brought by Southland Properties, which owns the Middletown Mall and property around the mall.
The initial lawsuit filed May 12 in Marion County Circuit Court alleges the non-profit agency failed to buy a 70-acre parcel near the mall, as Well as 7.9 acres next to the mall as agreed in 2004.
