Lucas County breaks record for new home construction

The building boom in Lucas County resulted in a new record set in 2001 for the number of new single-family homes. Despite a downturn in the regional economy, the Lucas County Building Regulations Department issued 818 residential construction permits in 2001, beating the old record of 801 permits set in 1998.
