Melissa raised her hand. "I'm not sure what my heritage is," she said.

"Your heritage is who you are," said Miss Leanna. "To learn about your heritage, you must first know where your ancestors came from."

On the way home, Pete thought about what Miss Leanna had said. I don't know anything about my heritage, he thought.
