COMBAT STORES SHIPS (T-AFS)

BRIEFING: The three Sirius-class replenishment ships-USNS Sirius (T-AFS 8), USNS Spica (T-AFS 9), and USNS Saturn (T-AFS 10)-were purchased from the British Royal Navy by the U.S. Navy in the early 1980s to meet increasing logistics requirements in the Middle East. More than 30 years old, these ships have been extensively modernized with improved habitability, communications, and underway-replenishment facilities.
