Australian Sen. Amanda Vanstone (Liberal-South Australia) issued the following news release:

Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, Sen. Amanda Vanstone, today praised Ballarat employers during a visit to the city for successfully combining temporary skilled overseas workers with training Australians to help grow their businesses, and in turn, the local economy.

'Ballarat employers have nominated at least 50 temporary skilled overseas workers in the last two years and more than 20 migrants under state-specific and regional visa schemes,' Senator Vanstone said.
