Rethinking safety rules and enforcement

If safety rules are to dovetail with tomorrow's workplace, they must be dynamic, just like workforces and processes.
Psychologists say that human beings have a basic need for freedom. People have long tried to live the way they want-to define their own boundaries. In a society of laws, however, this is not a reality. As a result, people tend to resist boundaries placed on them by others. This is a natural reaction, as is disobeying imposed rules.
