By Yuki Yanagi Staff writer Kamakura, once a capital of Japan is among the popular tourist destinations. The city attracts thousands of tourists throughout the year, located only an hour from Tokyo by train.
Kamakura became a center of Japan when Minamoto Yoritomo opened his government in 1192, when many temples and shrines were also built during that era.
