Rosenthal's Rose Agate: The Rarest of the Rare

IN THE SPRING of 1903, glass chemist, Jacob Rosenthal, was hard at work creating an exciting new color to be made in pressed glass. The place was Greentown, Indiana, home to the Indiana Tumbler and Goblet Works. At the time, this factory was known nationwide for its opaque brown Chocolate glass and its distinctive Golden Agate, both of which had been developed by Rosenthal in 1900-1902.
