SYRACUSE - After 20 years as an independent company selling filing systems and supplies, Business Controls Co. will be merging with Hurbson Office Furnishings.

As a first step toward merger, the companies have formed a "strategic alliance," involving crosstraining staff. The full merger, leaders from both companies say, will come after Hurbson settles questions regarding its physical space.
