Ulster set to promote Scotland's 'ither tung'; Language of Burns is funded and promoted in Ireland, but remains 'the poor relation' at home

Promoters of the Ulster-Scots language are to stage an audacious
raid on the auld country to teach Scots about their own heritage and
the legacy of the Scots language.
The Ulster-Scots Agency, which promotes the language - also known
as Ullans - and culture of the people who settled in Northern Ireland
from Scotland, is to organise a series of events in southern Scotland
and Edinburgh next year, aimed at both educating Scots about their
Ulster cousins and opening up the possibility of cultural tourism
from the wider diaspora.
