Oscar-Winner Jose' Ferrer Dies; Seven-Decade Career Spanned Stage, Film, TV

Jose' Ferrer, the Puerto Rican-born, Princeton-educated stage,
screen and television star who received the 1950 Academy Award for
best actor, died yesterday in a hospital in Coral Gables, Fla.
He was a multitalented figure of prodigious energy who was known
for vigorous, expressive performances throughout a career that
spanned seven decades. Mr. Ferrer, who spoke several languages in a
rich, husky voice, made his mark on the stage as a producer and
director as well as an actor.
